    • SZOZDA, Marguerite Therese (nee Lackenbauer) - November 9, 1932 - December 1, 2007. Marguerite was called home to Heaven by God on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the age of 75, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at Lisaard House, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Marguerite is survived by her loving husband of 54 1/2 years, John and her three children and their spouses, Terrianne (Peter) Moulton, Tom (Linda) Szozda and Tim (Aggie) Szozda and by her beloved grandchildren, Jenny, Melissa (fiance Manny) and Krystle Moulton, Tyler, Alisha and Katrina Szozda, Jonathan and Michael Szozda. She is also survived by Sister Doreen and Sister Betty Lackenbauer SSNDs and her brothers, Harold (Anna) and Peter (Heike) Lackenbauer and her sisters, Yvonne (Orville) Gutscher, Jeannette (Don) Brenneman, Carol (Florian) Szozda, Joanne Therese (Paul) Smith and nieces and nephews (and their children) too numerous to name, but loved no less. Marguerite was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Anna (Straus) Lackenbauer and her eldest sister, Marie (in infancy). Marg was a prolific potter, having been a long-standing member of the Waterloo Potters Workshop for 40 years and she was also a volunteer for the Sunnyside Home Auxiliary for 42 years. Marguerite and John were founding members of St. Aloysius RC parish and Marg was a 50 year member of St. Aloysius CWL. Marg and John enjoyed many years together as members of the St. Aloysius church choir and more recently as well members of the St. Francis of Assisi church choir. Marg will also be missed by her teammates and friends from the Tuesday afternoon Women's League Victoria Bowl where she has bowled for 40 years. "You were an inspiration to all with your boundless energy and dedication to all the organizations in which you were involved. In our hearts, we will always treasure your love, for you are a very special person who touched many lives and all will truly miss you!" Friends are invited to share their memories and celebrate Marguerite's life with her family during visitation at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , (507 Frederick St., Kitchener) Monday, December 3 and Tuesday, December 4 (today) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A vigil service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 8: 30 p.m. led by Fr. Joseph de Viveiros CR. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home chapel at 10: 20 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 followed by a procession to St. Aloysius RC Church (11 Traynor Avenue, Kitchener) for a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Con O'Mahony, Fr. Edward Sheridan and Fr. Joseph de Viveiros CR. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or Lisaard House Charitable Foundation (www.lisaard.com) would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
