  MOORE, Mark Gordon Suddenly, as the result of a motor vehicle accident, on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, in his 20th year. We have the comfort and peace of knowing that Mark is with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Cherished son of Shirley and Dick (Derrick) Van Rooyen and son of George Moore. Loving brother and friend of Matthew; step-brother of Elizabeth, Tom and Melissa Van Rooyen and uncle of Joshua and Jesse. Beloved grandson of Martin and Grace Van Rooyen, Gordon and Gladys Grummett and John D. Moore. Predeceased by his grandmothers, Doris Grummett and Helen Moore. Great-nephew of Janet and Harold Mahaffey. His presence will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mark was a second year student at Mohawk College, Hamilton, enrolled in Computer Software Engineering. He was a graduate of Southwood Secondary School. Friends will be received at Coutts & Son Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews St., Cambridge today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted at Forward Baptist Church, 455 Myers Rd., Cambridge on Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, at 11 a.m. Interment Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge. The Record Newspaper 25 Oct 2001 pg B7 Driver, 19, dies when skidding car hits tree Waterloo regional police, are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision, southwest of Cambridge. An unidentified 19-year-old male, was killed instantly, in the crash yesterday morning. Police weren't releasing the man's name yesterday, pending notification of family members. Few details were available at press time last night. The crash on Regional Road 75, known locally as Spragues Road, was discovered around 9: 15 a.m., yesterday, by a passing motorist. It happened at the end of a long bend about one kilometre south of Beke Road. There were no witnesses. A late-model Acura Integra, was southbound on Spragues Road, heading towards Ayr, when the driver lost control. Staff Sgt. Scott Diefenbaker said. The teal-coloured car crossed into the opposite lane of the two-lane highway, struck the guardrail and slammed into a tree. "What caused that young fellow to go off the road, we don't know" Diefenbaker said, about an hour after the crash was discovered, as rain pelted, North Dumfries Township, as firefighters tried to remove the body from the wreckage. Speed combined with a slick, wet road may have contributed to the crash, Diefenbaker said. Spragues Road, was closed for the remainder of the morning. Traffic was rerouted at Beke Road and Brant County Line. Police have sent the mangled remains of the Integra, to undergo mechanical fitness tests. An autopsy will be performed on the driver.
