      Ex-Paisley Man Norman L. Bean, Dies - Listowel Arene Owner Was Born at Mildmay

      "A well-known resident of Listowel, Norman Leander Bean died suddenly at his home here (Listowel). Born in Mildmay 61 years ago, he was a son of the late John and Susan Bean. On June 20, 1910 he married Emma Berndt and resided for some time in Paisley before moving to Toronto where the couple resided for five years, coming to Listowel thirty years ago where for the pastg twenty-five years he has conducted a wallpaper and paint store. Mr. Bean was proprietor of the Listowel arena. He was a member of the United Church of Canada and an IOOF member of Listowel Lodge 160.

      Surviving besides his wife are four sons, Elmer at home; Mervin in Toronto; Hibbert in Montreal; and Percy with the RCAF overseas. Two brothers and a sister also survive: Elton Bean of Listowel; Wilbur of Weyborn, Saskatchewan; and Mrs. Wm. Gottschalk"
