  Mrs. Gordon Bretz passed away Tuesday, June 25th at her residence, Heritage House, St. Jacobs, where she had resided for the past ten years. She was 94. Mrs. Bretz, the former Rhea Mattie Shantz, had lived at RR 4, Bright for many years. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Church, New Dundee. Dear mother of Lorene and her husband Kenneth Shantz of New Dundee, Lloyd and his wife Carol of Indiana, Elmon and his wife Ann of Kitchener, Marilyn and her husband Leonard Kilbey of Waterloo. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Gordon Bretz in 1963; two sisters, Mary Reist and Lorene Bickle; one brother, Leighton. Rested at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, Waterloo, where funeral service was held Friday. Interment Memory Gardens. The Ayr News 3 Jul 1991 pg 13
