  Robert Deans Cochrane Passes A long-time area resident, Robert Deans Cochrane of Hwy. 24A, RR 2, Paris, passed away at Willett Hospital, Paris on Friday, December 24th. He was in his 80th year. Mr. Cochrane was born in Elma Township, near Atwood: a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Cochrane. At age four, he moved with his family to Paris. He married the former Isabelle Lillico and they farmed at Nithvale where Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tschirhart now reside. In 1947, they moved to a farm on the Keglane at Paris. This farm was later sold to Paris Construction and they then moved to a farm on Hwy. 24A north of Paris. Mr. Cochrane was a member of Knox United Church, Ayr, and held a seat on the church session; was an Ayr Lawn Bowling club' member; member of Ayr Senior Citizens. He was a former member of South Dumfries Township council. While in Ayr, Mr. Cochrane was a rural mail courier for some time. Predeceased by his wife and a sister Isabelle. Surviving are four daughters Mrs. Hugh (Agnes) Hall of Plattsville, Mrs. Howard (Jean) Mitchell of RR 2, Paris, Mrs. Douglas (Margaret) Weber of Mississauga and Mrs. Hilton (Esther) Wright of Pinawa, Manitoba; two sons Bruce of RR 2, Paris and Cameron of London; a sister Mrs. Dora McRuer of Ayr; three brothers Ernest of Brantford, Scott and Donald of RR 2, Paris; also 18 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Funeral and committal services were held at Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, Paris on Monday. Rev. D. E. Willis of Ayr officiated. Interment in Ayr Cemetery. The Ayr News Dec 30 1976 pg 4
