• Notes

  CHARLTON, ROBERT MERRITT was a brother of Dr. S. E. Charlton, with whom he practised for about a year, according to Dr. E. Hagmeier. He was a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, class of 1906, and presumably came to Galt at that time as he is listed there in the Ontario Medical Register for 1907. From items in the Dumfries Reformer it appears that he tried two localities - Churchbridge, Sask., and Strattan, Northern Ontario, before deciding on Hamilton for the conduct of his practice. A history of medicine in Hamilton by A. G. McGhie says. "He conducted a very busy family practice from a York street office for many years.
