    • SAD DEATH OF MRS. DUERING

Well Known and Highly Respected Citizen Passed Away on Friday-Life Long Resident.

Many friends will sincerely regret to learn of the death of one of Waterloo's esteemed and highly regarded residents in the person of Sophie Schade, beloved wife of Mr. H. B Duering, the well known auctioneer. Although she had been in failing health for over a year, being a sufferer from heart trouble, her death came somewhat suddenly. She was able to be about the day previous to her death and was quite cheerful up to 11 o'clock when she retired, but passed peacefully away at 5.30 o'clock on Friday morning.

The late Mrs. During was in her 62nd year and had lived in Waterloo all her life, being born here in 1861. She was married to Mr. Duering 42 years ago and her death comes, as a severe affliction to her bereaved husband as well as to the other members of the family.

By her kindly and cheerful disposition and her many deeds of kindness and helpfulness she endeared herself to her family and was held in the highest regard by all who enjoyed her acquaintance. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was an energetic and devoted member, being an active worker in the Ladies' Aid and Missionary Societies of the church of which she was a highly valued member.

She was also actively identified with the Lady Macabees.

The funeral was held on Monday afternoon at two o'clock from her late residence, 244 King St. North, to St. John's Lutheran church where an impressive service was conducted by Rev. E Bockelman, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church. Waterloo. A large number gathered to pay their final tribute of respect, the casket being banked with many beautiful floral offerings sent by sorrowing friends.

Interment was made in Mount Hope cemetery.

Mrs. Duering leaves to mourn her sad death, her sorrowing husband, one daughter, Mrs. Carl Damman who had been residing with her mother, and one grandson; also four brothers and four, sisters, namely: William of Dunkirk, N. Y.; Martin of San Diego, Cal.; Henry of Kitchener and George of Stratford; Mrs. Wm. Hebebrandt and Mrs. Sol. Beatty of Waterloo and Mrs. John J. Grasser and Mrs. J. Meyer of Kitchener.

The deepest and sincere sympathy of a wide circle will be extended to the sadly bereaved husband and other members of the familyy to whom her death comes as an irreparable loss.
