  JENKS, Thomas (Tom) Wayne The gates of heaven opened wide and this special person walked inside. Tom continued his journey on December 31, 2012 at the age of 72, leaving behind a loving family and many cherished friends. His family was the centre of his life, beginning with his beloved wife, Margo. Tom cherished his two daughters, Bev and husband Jeff Schmidt and Patti Goetz. He adored his three granddaughters Sherri Schmidt, Kabrina Goetz and Olivia Goetz McConnell. Predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Charles and four siblings; Jack, Gladys, Maxine and Danny. Tom spent 28 years with Michel Simard Ltd. and was an intricate part of the company's success, until his retirement. Mix together a friendly smile, knowledge of product, a charming personality and you have Tom, the perfect salesman for the footwear and other industries. He was highly regarded by everyone he worked with and continued those friendships into retirement. To those of us who knew him as Tom, Tommy, Dad, Grandpa, Papa, and friend, we will always remember the twinkle in his eyes; the gift of laughter, especially at himself; his love of the heat in the sun, bright red flowers, a good game of golf, family get-togethers, travel and adventure, fine food and fun. Let's not forget the tissues…. Family and friends joined in the celebration of Tom's life at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener, 519-749-8467, on Friday, January 4th, 2013, with visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Clements Catholic Church, Duke and Westminister Dr. in Cambridge on Saturday, January 5th, 2013, at 10 a.m. A private family committal service will be held at a later date. Tom greatly loved his children and grandchildren and had special relationships with each child. He was their strength in their darkest times and their bright light in their happiest times.
