    • HILBORN, W. Rae Passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at his apartment in Nithview Community, at the age of 97. Beloved husband of M. Edna (Shantz) for 60 years who passed away in April 2004. Rae was formerly of Roseville and R.R. #1, Shakespeare. He was born September 4, 1917 at Roseville. He was the eldest of the late J. Stanley and Ina (Bingeman) Hilborn. Loving father of Carol (Kitchener), Jean (Guelph), Mary Hilborn and Gordon Kushner (Toronto) and Daniel and Sandra (Cambridge). Cherished grandfather of Josh and Jenny (Guelph) and Jenna (Ryde, England) and great-grandfather to Lydia. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Eva Shaver (Kitchener), Muriel and Robert Thomas (Salem), and Edna and Walter Wilhelm (Baden) and in-laws Nelda Shantz (Cambridge) and Roy Shantz (New Hamburg). Rae was predeceased by siblings Evelyn and Charles Perrin, Harry Hilborn, David Hilborn, Grace and Emmanuel Heintz, William Shaver and in-laws Violet and Cranson Good, Grace and Wes Metzger, Clayton and Verna Shantz, Marjorie and Phares Martin, Gordon and Beth Shantz, Ralph Shantz and Elaine Shantz. Respected cousin, uncle, and friend to the extended family and greater community. Rae was a lifetime farmer. He served in various capacities with farm organizations and his church community. He was caretaker and secretary at Roseville Cemetery for over 50 years, and founding member of Wilmot Seniors' Woodworking and Craft Club. In keeping with Rae's wishes, cremation has taken place. A welcoming of family and friends will take place at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 4: 00 to 8: 00 p.m. A memorial service and celebration of Rae's life will be at Nith Valley Mennonite Church, 1355 Bean Road, New Hamburg on March 14, 2015 at 11: 00 a.m. In Rae's memory, donations may be made to Nith Valley Mennonite Church, Nithview Community or a charity of your choice.
