    • WILLS, William Ronald "Ron" "Uncle Ron"

      March 29, 1923- April 9, 2015. Born to Doris (nee Stephens) and Foster Wills at Redruth, Cornwall, England. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret Lily and her family Shirley and John Sindall. Survived by his sister, Iris Lovegrove and sister-in-law, Helen Newman, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews, with whom he celebrated many life events. He immigrated to Canada, on October 28, 1929 and lived in Galt, Ontario thereafter. Ron was a millwright at Babcock Wilcox, for 47 years and was a 65 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 121. He served proudly in the Canadian Army, infantry artillery for four years in WWII, from N. Africa, the Italian campaign, France to the Netherlands - IV Princess Louise Dragoon Guards. In his later years as a proud WWII Veteran, he remembered his comrades at the National Ceremony of Remembrance, at the National War Memorial, Ottawa on November 11th each year. This annual pilgrimage became a proud family gathering. Cremation has taken place and a family graveside service will be held at Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Cambridge at a later date. The family would like to express a special thank you to all of those who cared for Ron the past year, Dr. J. Birss, Dr. K. Roth, nurses at Cambridge Memorial Hospital and recently staff of 5 West and 7 East at Guelph General Hospital, the Guelph Denture Clinic and Wellington Park Terrace Retirement Home. Arrangements entrusted to Corbett Funeral Home.
