      Teachers

I only remember Jim Corrigill when I came from Waterloo where I did real good never standing above 7 but when I came to Elmira it was kerplunk. Last difference in the schools but old Jim wasn't as sharp as Ben Playford in Waterloo. I remember the time when Jim sent me to the hall for talking. I only did this girl a favor and keep her sleeve out of the ink well. When I went to the hall a minute or so out came another, Oscar Musselman for rolling a marble down the alley and a few minutes after along comes Sid Otto for some disturbance and then who should come along but Edwin [___?] Hollinger. thats 4 in the hall so out comes old Jim and ask me what I talked about. I told him and he said you are not allowed to talk so he told me to hold out my hand. I did but the strap never came out. Old Jim was on the floor with the other 3 on him. Old Jim had a bad habit he chewed tobacco and Physiology mentioned not to chew so one day he stood at the back of the class watching and Oscar Musselman sat at the back and all at once Oscar picked something off the floor and what do you think it was. Some chewed tobacco and he had the nerve to ask old Jim whether it was his so (Wow!) I know nothing of the other 2 teachers. That was in 1906 and 1907.
