    • HEUGHAN, William Gordon (Flight Lieutenant, Bomber Command, WW2 Veteran) - Passed away, peacefully into his eternal rest, on Monday, August 17, 2009, at his residence, the Village of Winston Park. Gordon was born in Montreal on March 14, 1917, the first child of Mary McAuley and William Heughan. He leaves to mourn his wife of 40 years, Madeline (nee Lynes). Gordon was employed by Pratt and Whitney, in Longuiel, Quebec, retiring in 1982, after 39 years of service. Gordon served his country during World War 2 from 1939 to 1945 as a navigator with the R.C.A.F. Many missions were flown in his beloved Lancaster and Halifax bombers. He was a long-time member of the R.C.A.F. 404 Wing Association and the Royal Canadian Legion Fred Gies Branch 50, as well as a faithful member of Calvin Presbyterian Church. As well as his wife, Madeline, he is survived by his brothers, Donald (Jean) of Mississauga, Jim (Dorothy) of Manotick and Bob (Cindy) of Sutton, Quebec. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as his brother and sisters-in-law, Dr. Frank Lynes, Helena Kloepfer and Margaret Coffey. Gordon is predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Muriel and Eleanor; his nephew, Brian Holmes and his brother; Allan (killed in WW 2). Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Westmount Funeral Chapel , 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener (at Westmount Road) on Friday, August 21, 2009 from 2- 4 p.m. The complete funeral service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 248 Westmount Road E., Kitchener on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Gedcke officiating. A reception will be held at the church following the service. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the C.N. I.
