  Michael Kowal PRESTON - A Preston resident since 1928, Michael Kowal, 54, died here today. He had been ailing since May and had been seriously ill for the past few weeks. Born in Skala, Poland, Mr. Kowal came to Canada in 1927, residing in western Canada for a year, making his home here since 1928. A machine hand by occupation, Mr. Kowal was employed at the Canadian Office and School Furniture for the past 10 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church, Preston. Surviving is his wife, in Poland, and a brother, Samuel, in Toronto. A son was killed in the Second World War. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Ltd. funeral home. Requiem mass will be sung at St. Clements RC Church Monday at 9 a.m. Interment will be in St. Clement's RC Cemetery. Kitchener-Waterloo Record 21 Nov 1952 pg 7
