  Berlin Chronicle 16 Aug 1859 Extraordinary Suicide - A lunatic by the name of Jacob Stauck, from New Hamburg, put a period to his existence in Berlin Gaol, on Thursday morning last. His violence had led to confinement in a straight-jacket for the past month or two. On Wednesday night he had managed to divest himself of the jacket, and when the Gaoler went into the cell the follolwing morning he found Stauck hanging by the neck to the cross-bar of the window, in an entirely nude condition, and quite dead. He had made use of the strings of his straight-jacket to accomplish his purpose, and had died very quietly to all appearances there being no heavy marks on the neck, nor no discoloration of the face, pg. 2 col. 5
