A c1908 Jacob Doersam postcard uses some early photo manipulation to capture the early 20th-century band. Within a hand-drawn but non-existent bandstand, all 41 WMS band members plus conductor W. Philp have been photographically implanted. Conductor Philp is also more trickery! In Mellor's book, an earlier version of this exact image, titled 1902, shows a different conductor, A.W.
