Zimmerman House
Bowman House built in 1840 by Henry Bowman on the north east corner of King and Erb Streets and was initially known as the Farmer's Hotel. In 1867 directory lists William L. Bowman as the proprietor. In 1882 it was bought by Henry Zimmerman and eventually the name was changed to Zimmerman House. A fire in 1889 destroyed a major part of the front facing King Street. It was rebuilt and a third floor added. In 1889 the Canadian Bank of Commerce opened an office on the main floor.
In 1904 it was bought by Mark Lewis and was renamed the Lewis Hotel. in 1935 it was opened as the Hotel Waterloo.
